I don’t know about y’all, but picking out an Easter dress every year is a tradition I take great delight in. As you can see, I was obsessed with my Easter dress from last year, pictured above.
Hey y’all! In case you didn’t already know, I am obsessed with galvanized decor items. I blame it all on Joanna Gaines. You can see some items at our outdoor movie night, on my tablescapes and now in our backyard! Here are two super easy and affordable spring planters that you can make with tubs from Wal-Mart! The large one was about $12 and the smaller oval (which is my favorite!) was around $6. I linked a few online option below as well as the drill bits I used. However, your best bet is to go to the store and check out the home goods aisles. I found mine in the front of the store near the Easter decor. You can also find much larger versions of these buckets at a farm supply store like TSC if you have the space and dirt!
This post has been a long time coming but I am excited to share with you how I packed for a 18 day trip to Italy in one carry-on bag! I’ll make notes of what worked and what didn’t, what I wish I’d brought with me and what I didn’t really need. We visited Italy in May (trip tips & details here!) and traveled from the south of Naples to northern Tuscany, which gave us a lot of weather variances so all of these items worked in the different locales…lots and lots of layering!
Hey y’all! While we are waiting to move into our new home, I’ve been working on getting creative when it comes to things I can blog about while living out of a hotel! Today I thought I’d share with you the things I have been enjoying since moving out to the wild west in my new monthly “Favorites” article. Fancy photos may not abound this month since my camera is still packed up but we’ll see what this iPhone 5 can do 😉
A nice pajama set puts me in a good mood, makes me feel fancy and allows me to mingle with house guests or my hosts without feeling like I’m inappropriately exposed. These J Crew pajamas are not only long enough for my giant legs, but they are cozy, stylish and can be monogrammed! They have been essential while we have stayed with friends along our trip and I have enjoyed relaxing in them around our hotel room.
Along with PJs, this silk travel mask I picked up from the Garden & Gun Mercantile has been a must! It keeps out all that ambient light I’m not used to sleeping with! I also wasn’t used to how cold our hotel has been! My fluffy Patagonia pullover and these super comfy Zella leggings have been keeping me cozy and warm while I study in the room.
My last two favorite items that I brought on this trip have been my moisturizer with SPF and the screw back earrings I got this Christmas. We have spent so much time in the sun recently in the car, on a hike and walking laps with the dog around the hotel so it has been great to know my fair Irish skin is ready for that with my daily moisturizer! I ran out of my Olay lotion a week into the trip but the Wal-Mart equivalent has been just as great. Finally, a note about those earrings – I must have fat ear lobes because I have now lost two pearl earrings while spending the night at a friend’s house and on a camp trip, regular push backs will not keep those bad boys secure through the night. So my patient and loving husband purchased me a third and final set of pearls for Christmas this year from Amazon with screw backs that will never get lost in-transit!
All of my items are linked below- with some cute screw backs from Kate Spade because I couldn’t find the La Regis pearls I purchased on Amazon here. In March we will be out of the hotel and hopefully all settled in to our new home- shoot me an e-mail (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have any ideas for my March Favorites article!
Did anyone else realize that Valentine’s Day is just less than a week away today? Eep! My husband’s birthday is the week before Valentine’s so we typically promise to not get each other anything and just treat ourselves to a nice date. However, for the rest of you, I’ve rounded up some cute things you can pick up at Target today if you are down to the wire! There is something for any price range as the options vary from $12 to $45. Let me know if I’ve missed any great ideas you’ve seen at Target!
